DPAA Met with Gold Star Families in Omaha, Nebraska for Vietnam War Annual Government Briefing
OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. — The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency held its Vietnam War Annual Government Briefing in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 26 and 27, providing families with the latest information regarding their loved ones’ cases. This was the first time holding the meeting outside of Washington D.C.

From Sea to Summit: A Summer Cruise in South Korea
SOUTH KOREA — This wasn’t the kind of summer cruise you’d find featured in admissions pamphlets. There was no ship, no underway watches, and definitely no galley serving powdered eggs at 6 a.m. Instead, Midshipman 1st Class Nick Feaster and Midshipman 2nd Class Jordan Trantham, students at the U.S. Naval Academy, found themselves knee-deep in dirt on a remote Korean mountainside, wielding excavation tools rather than a sextant. Their instruments were a pinpointer and a trowel and were working with a pair of mountaineers who knew the ridgelines better than any GPS ever could.

PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. — Just days after Memorial Day, as the nation honors those who gave their lives in service, 2nd Lt. Katherine Hendl carried out a deeply personal mission: escorting the remains of her great-great-uncle, Staff Sergeant Loring E. Lord, a U.S. Army Air Forces gunner killed in action during World War II, home to Massachusetts—nearly 80 years after he was declared missing in action.
