We polled the followers of our Facebook page to find out what they wanted to know about how we use DNA analysis to identify and account for Americans missing from our past wars and conflicts. We then asked Dr. Tim McMahon, the director of DoD DNA Operations for the Armed Force Medical Examiner Service (AFMES), to answer those questions for our #ForensicFriday series. Dr. McMahon and his scientists at the AFMES DNA Identification Laboratory at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, are DPAA's long-standing partners and perform all of the DNA analysis we use identify the missing.
