WASHINGTON –
Army Pvt. Winfred L. Reynolds, killed during the Korean War, was accounted for on Jan. 16, 2019.
In April 1951, Reynolds was a member of Medical Company, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, and attached to 2nd Platoon, Company C, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, near Hwach’on Reservoir, South Korea. He was killed on April 26, 1951, while caring for wounded Soldiers. Because of ongoing fighting in the area, Reynolds’ remains could not be recovered.
DPAA is grateful to the South Korean Government and the Ministry of National Defense Agency for Killed in Action Recovery and Identification for their partnership in this mission.
Reynolds' name is recorded on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, along with the others who are missing from the Korean War. A rosette will be placed next to his name to indicate he has been accounted for.
