WASHINGTON –
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced today that U.S. Army Pfc. Obert B. Flowers, 21, who was killed during the Korean War, was accounted for Dec. 15, 2025.
In early 1951, Flowers was a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was reported killed in action on March 1, in the vicinity of Wonju, Republic of Korea (South Korea). His remains were not recovered during or after the war.
This is an initial release. The complete accounting of Burleigh's case will be published once the family receives their full briefing.
