WASHINGTON –
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced today that U.S. Army Pfc. William T. Farrell, 19, who was killed during the Korean War, was accounted for Sept. 2, 2025.
In late 1950, Farrell was a member of Battery C, 38th Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. He was reported missing in action on Nov. 30, during the battle of Ch’ongch’on River near the town of Somin-dong, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
This is an initial release. The complete accounting of Farrell's case will be published once the family receives their full briefing.
