When DNA Isn’t Enough: How Video-Photo Superimposition Helped Identify a Fallen Service Member
The photograph of U.S. Army Sgt. Roger Duquesne used for craniofacial superimposition shows the image investigators relied on for comparison. Scientists matched the visible dental features in the photograph to those of the recovered skull. The military dress hat he was wearing served as a critical reference object, allowing experts to determine the original camera distance and properly align the skull for accurate comparison.
