Dr. Alec Christensen, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) scientific recovery expert, looks through an open casket for osseous material at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial (MACM) processing center in Manila, Philippines, Dec. 6, 2023. There are approximately 3,100 unknown personnel laid to rest within the MACM.
