Rear Admiral Darius Banaji, DPAA Deputy Director for Operations, presents DPAA teammate, Sgt. 1st Class Jeremy Gleason, the Joint Service Commendation Medal for rendering life-saving aid. On June 5, Gleason, from the Surgeon General Directorate, provided emergency medical care to a member of the local community. While waiting to participate in an event at Ke’ehi Lagoon in Honolulu, he immediately brought his training and skills to bear in responding to an individual experiencing cardiorespiratory arrest. He administered both CPR and defibrillation to the individual, ultimately saving the person’s life.
