Jennifer C. Walsh serves as the Principal Deputy Director for the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA). In support of the Director, DPAA, she is responsible for leading the agency in formulating policy, overseeing business development, and increasing outreach initiatives to achieve the agency’s goal of providing families and the nation with the fullest possible accounting of missing personnel from past conflicts.
Among her prior recent assignments in federal service, Ms. Walsh served on the faculty of the College of International Security Affairs at the National Defense University; as the DoD Performance Improvement Officer (PIO) and Director of Administration and Management (DA&M); the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Hemispheric Affairs; and in a variety of leadership positions in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. Her defense policy experience includes issues ranging from mission assurance, countering weapons of mass destruction, technology security policy, strategy, countering violent extremism and strategic communications; and bilateral defense relationships with countries across Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, Asia, and the Western Hemisphere.
Ms. Walsh is a graduate of the National War College (NWC) at the National Defense University and served on the NWC faculty. She earned a Master of Public Affairs degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Louisiana Scholars’ College at Northwestern State University.
