How scientist-detectives' search brought home remains of Vietnam War pilot to Texas (Via Times Record News)

Countless hours of painstaking work over decades brought scientific sleuths to a sign they were on the right track to finding the remains of a Vietnam War pilot shot down over 50 years ago.
Air Force Maj. Roy A. Knight Jr. was attacking a target on the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos when his aircraft was shot down May 19, 1967, by anti-aircraft fire.
First listed as Missing in Action, the 36-year-old father of three and native Texan was declared Killed in Action in September 1974. He was promoted to colonel during that time.
