Marine Accounted For From Korean War (Johnson, B.)

WASHINGTON — Marine Corps Pfc. Billy E. Johnson, killed during the Korean War, was accounted for Aug. 7, 2019.

In late 1950, Johnson was a member of 1st Marine Division, attached to the U.S. Army's 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was reported missing in action on Nov. 30, 1950, when enemy forces attacked his unit near the Chosin Reservoir, North Korea. Following the battle, his remains could not be recovered.
